Free-writing for Five-Minute Friday on the prompt “beloved”:

IMG_2743

“I am my Beloved’s, and my beloved is mine.”

I have just come from a love feast of words proclaiming His incredible love over at Lisa’s, and as I read the prompt word, “Beloved,” it all just resonates again.

We long so for a love like this, and never find it, totally, on this earth. But there it is, always pouring out, “sorrow and love flow[ing] mingled down…

And at this point, I just sit here, fingers stilled. How can I add anything to what He’s already said and already shown?

My Beloved, Who reaches down into this tiny, tiny world and makes me His beloved…! well, it’s just breath-taking, wondrous beyond measure.

What more can I say? I’m speechless.

  1. And another amen back to you, Linda! Too bad we forget (too often) to look there. Blessings to you today!

  2. I, too, had the struggle you described: what else can you even say about how He loves us? He’s said it all!

“We long so for a love like this, and never find it, totally, on this earth.”
That is such a powerful truth! Thank you for your transparent words this morning!

    1. Five minutes of free writing tends to bring on transparency, doesn’t it, Jessica? Thanks for stopping over here and commenting.

  3. It’s amazing that He can love all of us, every single one of us in this world He created. But He does. And He will continue to forever and ever. His love is everlasting. He calls us His Beloved and all He asks in return is for us to surrender to His will. He will guide us, nurture us, protect us, love us. I am learning this lesson every day. Followed you from Five Minute Friday. Have a great day.

  4. Well said, Vicki. I’m always astonished at how He tends to the tiny details in our tiny lives, intervening even in things that aren’t really all that dire and important. We can’t comprehend such love. I “know” factually that it’s His omniscience and omnipresence and omnipotence, working with His limitless, unfailing love, but wow! I can’t wrap my mind around all that. “Too wonderful for me.”
Glad you stopped by and we got to “meet”!

  5. “Be still and know that I am God.” Obedience has it’s rewards… I’m taking notes, Sylvia. Thanks for the example. To know and stretch the limits of our brain power in wisdom and honor brings Him honor.

  6. “Obedience has its rewards.” We know by faith Heaven holds rewards. The earthly ones may come slowly, and if we aren’t paying attention we can miss them when they arrive, but yep, Floyd, I’ve found that statement true even in earth-life.

  7. Yes, it does make one utterly speechless, doesn’t it? Thank you for this picture of His love today!
